Android rooting is the process of allowing users of smartphones, tablets, and other devices running the Android mobile operating system to attain privileged control (known as 'root access') within Android's subsystem.
Rooting android is like getting super power to use custom ROM on your android. Many android app require to have rooted phone. Another way to understand is to consider the public and private in term of rooting. You can understand it in this manner that the authorities for save, edit, delete are considered as public terms and the built in things related to hardware are considered as a private which need an administrator credential.
Rooting a phone, especially android, can be a pretty cool stuff if you have a vast knowledge about Linux operating system, kernel, and if you can develop your own system. If you are a beginner level programmer or doesn’t have knowledge over Linux operating system then rooting your phone may not be good deal for you.

As we know, android works on Linux, so there are two types of users. First, an admin user and second the super user. This is something related to security of phone or specific folder (generally known as ROOT folder)
Any of android devices is generally protected in two ways:
- first way is the phone “BIOS” which protects our phone from peculiar changes and binds all the phone’s services in to a working system.
- The second method is the phone ROOT which contains all the information about; in what manner the phone should work.
For making changes into the android system, you will have to crack its BIOS. You can test that your android phone is rooted or not by using an application on your phone whose name is “terminal emulator”. After installing feed there comes a code SU (super user). This command tells the system that what we want to change into the important stuff and you need all important access. You will get access on your android file if it’s found that your phone is rooted. If it’s not found that your phone is rooted then it will display: NO ACCESS. In this manner you can check that whether your phone is rooted already or not.

Reasons for rooting:
Rooting is often performed with the goal of overcoming limitations that carriers and hardware manufacturers put on some devices, resulting in the ability to alter or replace system applications and settings, run specialized apps that require administrator-level permissions, or perform other operations that are otherwise inaccessible to a normal Android user. On Android, rooting can also facilitate the complete removal and replacement of the device's operating system, usually with a more recent release of its current operating system.Rooting your phone allows you to access your android hardware to full extent. Mostly rooting of android rooting is done to do all nerd stuff, like CPU over clocking. Rooting a phone (android) differs from device to device. You can consider rooting as command that allows using 3rd-party software to exploit the capacities.
You can imagine that there is a friend’s computer and in this system you can log in as user. He allowed you to install something, but, what happens when c: windows folder is locked.
